Biotechnician

Biotechnology combines the use of biology and chemistry to develop products that improve the overall quality of human life. Techniques of biotechnology are used in agriculture, industrial applications, medicine, forensics, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and other industries. A goal of the program is to prepare students for entry- level positions in biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, academic research labs, or crime labs, just to name a few.

The Biotechnology training program at Medix School - South includes biotechnology courses that prepare students to fill positions in the rapidly growing biotechnology sector. Students can learn standard lab operating procedures, biomanufacturing, recombinant protein production, cell culture, documentation and DNA/fingerprinting techniques for positions such as lab technicians, research assistants, microbiology technicians, chemical analysts.

 

Biotechnology graduates are qualified to work in many fields within the biotechnology industry, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, medical, industrial products, bioinstrumentation and agriculture.
