The Medical Office Administration Program will train students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of medical office administration procedures, and the skills necessary for entry-level employment in a medical or practice. The medical office administration skills include bookkeeping, billing and collection, records management, patient data collection, keyboarding, transcription, word processing, appointment scheduling, written correspondence and telephone techniques. Upon satisfactory completion of the training, students will be qualified to assume entry-level positions as a medical office assistant, medical secretary, medical biller/collector, and insurance claims processor performing the medical office duties described above.
This program is offered at the associate of occupational science degree level and students enrolled in this curriculum will be scheduled for general education and intermediate level skills courses. These courses are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to promote success in their chosen careers.
